I'm spending a bit of money on the burgman, trying to get it up to scratch.
Have had the rear caliper stripped and rebuilt as it was hardly working before.
New front disc, plus wheel bearings plus new pads going on this weekend.
Last problem appears to be that the rear wheel has a problem with the bearings on the end of shaft from the transmission.
Not quite sure what parts I need to buy. I've looked and think I know but need to be sure.
2004 k3 burgman 400. Can anyone help that may know about burgmans?
Would put this in the garage but it's more a buying question/mechanical question.

Re: Help me buy things
Right, well I have a vibration at about 6000 plus revs. Been trying to find the reason. Engine appears to be fine. Two mechanics have given their opinion and believe the rear wheel is clunky when spinning. It does sound like its sort of rubbing when you spin it. So just need bearings etc. front wheel was easy. Just bought bearings and seals. But as the rear is also connected to the shaft I'm not 100% what to buy

If theres no play in bearings Id leave it alone check oil in final drive dont forget as you spin wheel you are spinning the gears in final drive and the clutch bell .Id be more inclined to look at belt clutch ect that has bearings in as well for when its spinning with clutch disengaged .Bearings in final drive will have oil sloshing around so unlikely to wear and if they did you would get side to side play on rear wheel which would be picked up in mot .Thats my opinion any way .

Don't know if I have misunderstood you. The vibration is with clutch engaged, so not sure how it could be clutch related. It's noisy spinning with the engine off.
Probably me not understanding and being thick.

Re: Help me buy things
think what pikey means is the clutch is just clutch plates and this is attached to the rear pulley with a contra spring and torque server ... this is a complete rear pulley and will have bearings in the centre.. if you look at this photo http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/15107190 ... =95&ff19=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you will see the clutch fitted to the pulley (were the belt runs in the grooves) the clutch is held on by a big nut and there is a bearing which sits in the centre of this complete unit
also the clutch plates, or one of them might be worn

I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Yes when I said bearings in clutch I meant inside rear pulley which clutch is attached to.Even when clutch engaged there are forces on these bearings as belt is pulling against pulleys to force them open so it can get higher ratio .
What Im saying is I doubt if its bearings inside final drive but could be wrong
A its not done that many miles
B any play would be picked up on MOT
C its not a known fault so you would be unlucky for that to happen
D Big job to do look at other stuff first

Watch video notice as he removes inner belt case cover and flips it over there's a bearing in the case this steady's end of shaft rear pulley runs on check this as well put your finger in and turn it see it its running smooth .
