Some sort of new Honda may or may not be coming...

Post by MrGrumpy »

Amazing non-story in MCN today that Honda might be introducing some sort of new bike, or maybe a bike/scoot hybrid or possibly nothing at all.
They claim that Honda are going to announce something (sometime) along the lines of the New Mid concept (ie N750s) but what isn't clear. There lots of big pictures of the fab but 10 year old Griffon concept, and that line drawing that often turns up that looks like a Sporty Integra.

But there are no actual facts at all! I suppose its a journalistic skill to squeeze out a whole page of text based entirely on speculation without any actual content! So I'm not holding my breath....

MCN were of course convinced that the E4-01 concept was going to go into production, but very sadly, it has yet to appear. I'll be first in the queue if it ever does though!

I assume when they killed off the Deauville, they shut down the factory to save money, think it was in Spain. They lost a steady seller and the only small size shaft drive tourer.

Very True. You do wonder if this whatever it might be Honda might be partially intended to replace the Deauville and the Silverwing, on the basis that the Integra doesn't quite cut it for either sort of buyer! The E4-01 was supposed to be shaft driven as well if I remember correctly.

Shaft drive Deavilles were all very well but outclassed in every single respect by a decent maxi-scooter IMO...
