New Kawasaki J300

Post by mjf65 »

Has anyone on here tried out the new Kawasaki? The orginal king of the superbikes builds a scooter eh? I sat on it at the bike show, it looked well finished and fairly sporty compared to my Burg.

:?: Isn`t it a re-badged Kymco Downtown, or am thinking of something else?

More than just a re-badge but the guts are all Kymco.
Has it actually made it into showrooms here yet?

It has in France - I sat on one on Thursday last - no 'demo' model though, so couldn't test-ride one.

Looked very nice (and sporty) - all the panel fit etc. looked very good.

A cop out rebadging a scoot, why don't they try and build one themselves?

Cos its cheaper to have someone else having already done the hard work beforehand!

And indeed they are already building a new scooter range to compete with everyone else. But why lose out. Get going now with a hybrid build from Kymco which is a quality bit of kit.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

I sat on it and couldn't put my feet forward.

That really killed it for me, I can't imagine why they made it hopeless in such a casual way :(
It might be worth it with some DIY bodywork/footrest changes but it might be easier to buy a scooter that allows you to move your feet in the first place TBH. Honda, Suzuki, other Kymcos, SYM, Piaggio, Daelim all seem to manage it.

Kawasaki is used to sell Kymco Quads under their own badge.
And now scooters too.
Perhaps even the Ninja motorcycles are Made in RoC?
Salut/Cheers
