Well eventually made my mind up and bought a 2008 AN400K8
The choice eventually came down to a 400 Majesty and the Burg
The Burg won it for me on roominess and comfort (Yam seat seemed harder)
Will be picking it up on Friday blizzards permitting.

Got it today yipeeee!!!
Absolutely brilliant, why oh why havn't I tried a maxi before now
(CALM Down Gary your 56!! Years old not 17)
Honestly if I had rode a Burgman before all my other bikes, I wouldn't have bought them
What a comfortable, relaxing and stable ride, it is so responsive and steady in the bendy's and currently getting 16 miles /litre (72 mpg)

Glad your so impressed and pleased with the Burgman. It was my first choice but my budget at the time wouldn't get me a decent enough one so I bought a Piaggio X8 which when refettled I hope I like as much as you like yours.

Oh yes, you have caught the 'Burg bug' now.
I had my first Burg for a short while (long story) about 12 years ago, then I strayed! However I got back into the fold at the end of last summer and am VERY happy that I saw the light again.
As has been said, you won't regret it.
Well done and happy miles.

It's the best bike for Northumberland, no more really wet feet and good body protection from the wind and rain.

Burgman = more smiles per mile and more miles per gallon. What more could anyone ask?

Thanks for the reassuring words guys
Just fitted a Taller Givi screen as the stock one was a little low, but unfortunately haven't been out since as I decided to remove the plastics to Waxoyl it and generally clean it up to give it a good look over.
Just about to make a clutch, variator holding tool based on the one Data made I've ordered some 25mmx5mm mild steel bar as from looking at the photos it seemed about that size.
Also wondering if I should change the drive belt while it's half stripped down (13,000 miles) even though it's not due until 14500
