back and on the look out

Post by andygty »

hi guys, havn't been on for a while, so thought I'd better get back into the swing of things.

due to some medical problems, some nice doctor in a suit decided that I couldn't have my licence anymore  but after what seemed like a lifetime, I've got it back :D and now raring to go.
I sold the nexus as soon as they told me the bad news coz I couldn't stand looking at it sat there every day, but have been looking for the last two weeks or so for a replacement. loved my nexus and it took us on quite a few euro tours, but due to the problem and the medication I'm on to keep it at bay, I've lost 3 stone off my already lightweight frame. something slightly lighter needed.
I looked at a burger 400, but not my thing, just didn't like it. looked at a t max in norwich the other day and just too heavy to move about. finally, went to look at an xevo 400 last night and although I thought I wouldn't like it, got a pleasant suprise. easy to get off the stand, just about managed 2 feet on the ground (unlike on tip toes with the nexus) and I liked the way it rode. 2009, one owner from new, just over 7,000 miles and been serviced 3 times (new belt, rollers and fluid change at the last one) the guy didn't pass his bike test until he was 62 and he thought I'd be shocked when he said he'd once took it up to 80 mph, lol. £1,500 sounds a bit of a bargain to me

any thoughts guys.

£1,500 sounds quite reasonable for the therapy it will give... Power to ya right wrist!

Sounds very fair price to me and especially if it's one that's been looked after (assuming the dealer he's used knows his stuff).

Only thing is the Xevo isn't as planted as the Nexus, so maybe a test ride (if you haven't already) would be worthwhile?
