Just picked up my 400 this afternoon and rode it back from Cheshire down the A49 to Gloucestershire, 163 miles, what a lovely machine and it's still got a quarter of a tank of fuel left, my Speed Triple would never have managed that.

Many congrats on that! You will have great fun and enjoy very practical transport at the same time. The dohc motor is brilliant as you will no doubt find out regarding performance and fuel economy. Keep posting to let us all know how you are getting on.

Couple of questions, can you change the fuel consumption reading from km/l to mpg? What tyre pressures do you run at?

Not sure if yours would be the same as my 650, you have to press and hold the select button for two seconds.

Congrats on your new burgman, I also picked my burger 650 up yesterday - sad to see the GTS go but now for some serious miles

Managed to change the read out to miles/litre, managed 76mpg last night

Best figure I've managed as yet when I was trying a bit (yes alright, I know I'm very trying!!) is 86.2mpg (on the puter) mostly on back 'A' and 'B' roads going cross country for 120 miles. The puter mostly undereads on these Burgmans and actual is nearly always about 2-4% higher mpg's when I've checked it by brimming. So on that basis it may have been nearer to 88-89mpg actual. Hardly got above 55mph for the entire trip but it was a very pleasant ride and shows there is more to riding pleasure than just speed. The Burgman 400 engine sounds very lazy, just ticking over at that speed and just sips at the petrol.

Tyre pressures; I run 26psi front and 30 rear for solo and 26 front, 36 rear with passenger.
