Had a look at a 2001 Burgman 400 tonight. 27k on the clock with quite a bit of service history and clean bodywork. Started from cold easily didn't ride it as I was in the car will go back for a test ride what do I watch out for? The Rear subframe had been hand painted as it looks like it corrodes and stand etc and the wheels were a bit iffy with alloy corrosion. Speedo not working and currently sorn, £1100 seem a tad expensive for a privatr bike,I was thinking about 800 - 850 as it needs some work?
Help/advice please.

More like goodbye. Goodbye to £1100. Sounds dear to me and personally, I wouldn't trust the mileage on anything with a non-working speedo.

I paid £600 or £650 for my 2000 plate with similar mileage, that was with an MOT, in 2011. Admittedly I had to swap the clutch housing out within a month or two...not sure if the old boy was aware it was on its way out or not to this day. It did come with an alarm and top box though
Handbrakes tend to not work on the earlier models that I come across. I wouldn't offer more than £800. Take a look on ebay, there are a four all under a grand as I type-pick of them being the K2 with 9000 miles, but with 5 days to go. Check the "completed listings" to see what has been sold for what price recently

the new mot paper you get this year, shows the last 3 speedo reading mileages on it for the previous last 3 years,
so this would be my first look to see if it dont match what he is saying

But RoadRunner's 60 plate is available for £2800, I'd be speaking with him instead.
