Cheap ebay givi style top boxes
Those 40 litre £30 delivered ones with plate just a warning mine came off on a bumpy road and went skidding across road .Box survived with just scuffs didnt burst open so boxes are strong just the bit where it clics on .Just added a bungy for rest of trip and it was fine .Jaz says its happened to a few on c90 forum as well we did have it on video but mike wiped it by mistake

Re: Cheap ebay givi style top boxes
The ones with a metal baseplate require a little bit of adjustment to make them secure (bending the baseplate a little makes the attachment points tend to spring together, securing the topbox more securely & stopping it from rattling around).
The boxes themselves are ABS plastic & the locks are identical to the Givi ones (I'm using a Givi locking plate on a chinese clone box), so they're just as tough. Where they differ is in the baseplates, hard plastic ones that don't flex on the Givi, thin steel ones on the clones. Bracing the base plate with some angle iron soon sorts them out.

Re: Cheap ebay givi style top boxes
Have a look at the metal bit that sticks up from the plate, it may need a slight bend to make it secure properly, mine did. Also have a look at the locking mechanism in the base of the topbox, is it springing back properly?pikey wrote:Mines a metal one bolted flat on top of a givi plate
