hi there my name is Ryland . i am thinking about getting a 99-00 400 burg for my 25 mile commute to work and the occasional trip from liverpool to swansea to see relatives. what are they like 2 up? do they handle the weight as i suffer from fat b****d syndrome

, are they ok for a 200 mile trip on fast A roads and what should i look out for when buying one. the reason i want the 400 is the insurance is so cheap

Think that age will be pre-FI, mine was reliable and cheap to run but didn't enjoy winter starts much, any newer (K2 onward) ones about?
The Burger is also very low, some people like it others don't, have you sat on/ridden one?
They're OK 2-up but progress will be fair rather than brisk, but pretty sure you don't want to stretch to a Silverwing or B650.

thanks for the welcome
i have had loads of bikes over the years from a honda h100 to a bmw r1150gs but have never had ago on a scooter. i had to sell the bmw 6 years ago and have not had a bike since but now as my xc70 is only doin 26mpg i'm thinking another bike is a good idea and think a scooter will be a little cheaper to run than the car
i'll have a max of £1100 to spend on a bike but the insurance has got to be cheap as in a few months i will be buying my first house so money will be tight, i have had a quote for £130 fully comp on a 400 burger which for an address in liverpool was amazing

. but my main worry is can the bike handle my 25st bulk

will i be able to cruise at about 70? what will happen on hills ? will i have to get off and push lol.
frankiej1949 thanks for the offer but that way out out of my price range

You may manage to get an FI version for your budget (EBay example below), it should manage to cruise at 70 mph with your weight based on my experience running 2-up with my teenage son as pillion, which would've been similar load. But there probably wouldn't be much in reserve, though with your budget the AN400 is the ideal choice.
