Hello - from a not-(yet-)maxi rider

Post by asparagus »

hello there muppets! [he meant in an affectionate way]
great forum and look forward to joining in a bit. i haven't got a maxi yet but in the painful rollercoaster process of considering my first one. will be relying on your advice to make my decision sometime soon. have been riding a 125 scooter for 6 years, and finally looking to move up. my current ride is a Honda pcx which i love and i think it really nugded me towards the world of maxis. passed my full licence last month and have been trawling forums, reading articles and reviews on just about every maxi ever produced, only to be further away from a decision now than when i started...
i've lots of questions for you but that's for another thread... :)

Bit more background will help on recommendations, although generally everyone just recommends what they ride! :P

Your budget
Use - Commuting (and daily distance), Touring, Fun - all 3
Solo or 2-up (how often)
Your height and if often 2-up combined weight (be careful with this one)
Honda NC750X DCT (2017)

Hi Asparagus and welcome.
Are you interested in a six month old Piaggio X10 350?

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Poldark - good point, I added those in a new thread in the general section, please share your advice! No doubt you will conclude I have to buy a Honda sh125 or a Triumph, or both! :D

Frankiej1949 - I do like the X10 quite a lot! I must admit I'm a bit concerned about reliability and the quality of the piaggio service network... How much are you selling for?

Theres nothing wrong with Piaggio reliability and the piaggio net work is quiet extensive,
the X10 is a very nice scooter indeed ,and Frankies1949,is an exceptional buy,

i really dont know where you are coming from,i dont think you really want a maxi bike,
you put so many obstacles in the way,,from what i can see of your post,s the scooter you want aint been made yet.
