Scooter Station have a comparison of the C650 and 2013 Burger. ...

BMW wins, principally on its dynamic qualities, but Burger has better luggage space, better equipment and perhaps surprisingly, is better in town.

I'm surprised that the Burger did so well to be honest. I much preferred the clutch on the TMAX to the one on the BMW, wet vs dry. My BV350 has also got a wet one, much, much better. Is the Burgman's clutch wet too?

Comparing the Beemer with the burger makes good sense. My ride on the Beemer, a good hour or more over fav twisties left it way behind my old tmax. For creature comforts and delightful suspension the Beemer excelled there tho.

Only a 2 point difference. The BMW may have better performance and a few other positives but to get to the equipment level of the 2013 Suzuki Burgman 650 at £8,799 you need to spend £10,545 for their Highline version. In this real world economic climate that's a huge £1746 difference and justification to go for the BMW over the Suzuki would need serious consideration as to why? Admittedly I was expecting the new 2013 Burgman to be more radical to justify a possible change so early but will just have to wait and dream on......

Yeah...I think Suzuki have made a slightly mistake by updating the Burger, but not really doing much to it. It obviously still has its advantages - and the engine gearbox setup is still obviously competitive - but it wouldn't have taken a huge amount of effort to make significant improvements, even if they didn't get round to the redesign to put the flabby thing on a major diet!

My Suzuki dealer NE Motorcycles at Durham who services my 650 has after 50+ years decided as at 10th May 2013, are to hand in the towel with Suzuki. Sad.

That's just complete nonsense. I have found just the opposite, especially in comparison to the Mk3. Most of the continental scooter press rate it better than the 530 too....

...and Suzuki withdrew their franchise from David Sykes at Horden a while back as well. I'm tending to use more independent workshops for servicing these days. Fortunately we do have a few on Teesside.
