M.o.t questions

Feeling lazy so thought I'd ask in case anyone knows of the top of their head. M.o.t pass questions:
1) does the brake light need to come on with the squeeze of both brake levers (currently mine only works on the right, same with the starter motor)
2) is a led light over the number plate sufficient if it not controlled directly from the main electric source? (My number plate light doesn't work and I suspect its because my wiring is screwed. One of the rear lights is intermittent also)

yes both to brake light not sure what you mean for led light if you mean from lights switch no as some scoots on all the time anyway so switched ignition feed would be ok

Basically if it's fitted it must be working.
You only need one brake light switch but if two are fitted they must both work.

Think I'm gonna just have to bite the bullet and have an auto technician sort the electrics out.

Normally if they are sticking the break light stays on permanently, it also does this if the plastic end of the switch mushrooms.

Had enough now! Spent the whole afternoon trying to fix my licence plate light.
The wiring just falls apart.
Does anyone know if a battery operated l.e.d stick on light would pass a m.o.t?
