No feud as far as I'm concerned. Don't know about Haggis, but a Bacon Sarnie in front of me, then stand back! Seriously though I really want to put some time in on the bike next year.

Yes but theres a Crown Carvery over the road so handy place to stop :D and Tlodge was only £25. Im going up in June with the wife to Inverness so just a short one for me nothing to stop others going further up .Ive done north west tourist route from John o groats twice before .

Ians only booked as far as Ullapool so far so dont know what main group will do after that

Dumbarton bothers me a bit. It's a bit rough around there.
I prefer to stay in pubs and the Ferry Boat at Ullapool is great. Good beer, decent food and clean rooms and it's reasonably priced.
Kinlochleven is a nice quiet spot and have stayed a couple of times at the Blackwater bunkhouse and eaten at the Ice Factor bar. Dead cheap. The Nimrod ale from the Atlas brewery next door is nectar, stay away from the stuff at the Tailrace Hotel!
The Buccleath Arms hotel you refer to in Moffat is superb and the food first class with top notch haggis!! We have always stayed in a small B&B in a quiet street to the north of the centre but have eaten at the hotel.
If you fancy the Galloway Forest I can recommend the Ellengowan Hotel in Creetown where they filmed the Wicker Man pub scenes.

I might be up for this also. Could tag on if you are coming past Newcastle or are you going east from Hull then north via the M6?

Travelodge Dumbarton is right off a dual carridgeway has security cameras we always look where they are pointing and park there your as safe there as anywhere.Over the road is a Crown carvery so its a cheap stop over thats all .All Im doing is saying what Im doing its up to individual to decide on accommodation ect .Ian is booking nicer hotels ect to me its an extra tour so has to be cheap as poss

The feud comment was tongue in cheek .

Re route from Hull Ian hasnt posted that yet but guessing he will do scenic route in Yorkshire as its his home county although now lives in Forest of Dean and scenic across to Moffat
