Decided to give plasti-dip a go as i had a few scratches on the sides of the bike and mirrors,
Bought 4 cans from ebay germany got the alloy wheel kit as its cheaper has the same matt black paint inside and comes in 400ml cans rather then the 311ml,
Just finished the front half of the bike, taken me 2hours, 5 coats and 2 cans,
will have to wait till next weekend to finish it off...

That looks nice. I have just ordered a can off ebay to do my exhaust shield.

look at the fourth picture, did the same sprayed the shield it was silver in colour but had a lot of scratch due to getting caught on my gate...

That looks good, my mirrors are scratched to buggery too, I'm tempted to copy your idea.

Do you think the plasti-dip will hold up when the panels are removed for servicing?

i sprayed the middle section of the handle bars where the piaggio logo is,
did that this morning before i went out and then removed the panel a few hours later and it held up fine even though its only been a few hours, think after you let it sit for 24hrs the dip should harden...
2 cans will do the whole bike with a good 3/4 coats but i had a lot of marks so did the extra coats to build up a decent amount of layers,

also remember to take of the tape while the paint is wet as you wont end up lifting parts of the paint off....

Don't forget to notify the DVLA about the change of colour, or you may be getting a tug from the rozzers.

Ah someone is using Plasti-Dip at last, fantastic stuff.

One thing though Plasti-Dip is not a paint, it's a flexible plastic spray like no other.

Still not sure if i should do the whole bike or leave it half grey and half matt black,
wont have time till next weekend now so will see how it looks,
but really surprised at how easy it is, with normal paint when you leave drips it can be a paint but this thing was way easy the drips just go away,
even had a bit of dirt flew on to the front while the paint was wet, removed it and just gave it another coat and it was fine,
even in a later stage when the plasti-dip gets damaged or scratch you can easily mask it up and throw another coast to fix it....

Nice one... Good thing is it doesn't chip like paint either..

So you don't have to paint it afterwards?
