Burgman 400-250 spare parts
I have a Burgman 400 y model from 2000. The rear brake locked on (not while riding) and when i removed the rear brake caliper nearly everything was seized up, i don't think anyone has touched it since it left the showroom. I bought it with 15000mls on . it now has 22000mls. I managed to free up the brakes but the brake pins are unmovable, and now are rounded off.My question is, are the parts for the 400 compatable with the 250?. There are a lot of front brake calipers on EBAY but not one rear caliper. I have changed the brake fluid and the brake works okay but the pads will need changing at some point. Anyone any idea where i might get a rear caliper from, new preferably, but i would consider a decent used one.

I don't know, but:
I had a look in my Haines manual and the rear brake chapters are shared for the AN250 and An400 up to K2 including anti-cockwise thread on the brake arm shaft and torques etc.- after K2 there are differences. Doesn't mean they are the same part No.s but it looks promising.
Give me a shout if you want to borrow the manual seeing as you are only up the road
Are you selling it when you are done?

Re: Burgman 400-250 spare parts
Thanks for your help Bluebottle. I have the Suzuki workshop manual, but, it only refers to the an400. I got a price for a new caliper from The Rocket Centre spares dept. Would you believe £900 + vat. I rode the Suzuki there and the brake seemed okay, i think i will tinker around a bit more, i can usually fix most things. I bought the Suzuki in November09, off ebay, just to keep me on two wheels but, i was so impressed i went on to trade in my Deauville for the Silverwing which, is my main bike. I kept the Suzuki as i enjoy riding it and it has a great engine, so i did think of selling it but it's great fun and i use it as my winter bike when the weather might make me hesitate to use the Silverwing
