MCN's take on the new X10

Well knock me down with a feather they..................... love it.
I don't think I've ever seen such a positive write from MCN on a Maxi.
Some of the quotes:-
The best new scooter in town.
Comfortable, spacious for a passenger and smooth power delivery from new 33bhp engine gives a sophisticated feel.
The only version of the X10 coming to the UK is the 350 in high spec guise, though Europe get the 125 and 500 in two spec levels.
No problem, the 350 is the best and aside from the top speed, as quick as the 500 anyway.
Excellent overall build quality
What also impresses is the X10's styling. This really is a beautifully shaped machine.

I just don't believe it!!!!!

I'm waiting for Youles in Blackburn to get one in to see for myself what they are like. I'm not convinced by the wavy body work.

'Where there's a will there's a way...' Or is it 'Where there's a will... I want to be in it'?

Shame about the first cock comment!
"manxybanksy says hut... bloooooaaaaargh. Sorry", unless he's talking about his first (and recent) sexual encounter?

Interesting comment, they say the Downtown 300 is just as lively.... now I happen to have proven a Burgman 400 is livlier than a Downtown so, is the 350 X10 as powerful as a 400 as they say?

that is the biggest question. if kymco downtown 300 is on par with piaggio x10 350 because the bhp difference gets compensated by weight difference, then it would be safe to assume that piaggio x10 350 would be on par with burgman 400 with the same reasons in mind. Plus in piaggio x burgman case there is no bhp difference either, it's just the weight difference (correct me if i'm wrong)

The Piaggio 350 engine in the Bev and X10 is supposed to have 33bhp - same as the 400 Burger (and Maj). Obviously, this is sensible for licencing reasons. However, what puzzles me is that they only claim a top speed of 85mph for the X10, yet the Burger is known to make a genuine (not speedo) 90. Duh?? The X10 can't the that un-aerodynamic, and the Burger isn't a tiny slip of a thing either....

what's more puzzling is that italians are notorious for their exagerated top speed claims and 85mph sounds like a british understatement. Maybe the figures got changed by the british marketing department?

According to this write up
http://www.latestbikesinfo.com/test-pia ... -2012.html
Here, we noted in Fact a top speed of 155 km / h on the meter, Measured at 146 km / h at GPS. Best of all, the Piaggio X10 350 2012 has No trouble reaching conditions this limit.
155kmph = 96mph - 146kmph = 90mph

Good write up. Well that sorts out the question of it being able to reach 90.
Looks like Piaggio are trying to improve the quality of their machines which is great to see.
