Re. the Honda heated grips - my dealer nearly fell over at the price Honda ask for the heated grips, and advised Oxford instead - which I had fitted. Work well.

Did you go for the Oxford "scooter" grips at 3.2amps current draw or the full blown motorcycles grips with up to 3.9amps draw (average 3.6amps on full power)? I went for the Oxford "Touring" mc grips at 3.9amps on the Vespa GTS. I have a 450w generator so they handle it ok.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 55 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

Another to consider are the Daytona Heated Grips which I have just fitted. They have an integrated control in the LH grip and mine cost under £80.

No further news, I'm afraid. I am going to take a trip up, probably this week, to mooch about the shop and will speak to the man then. I told him I hadn't had a good look round a motorcycle shop for ages to which he replied I was welcome at any time and for as long as I wanted even if I didn't buy anything.
I took from that that he really is interested in getting me a Forza since one doesn't need permission to browse.

It's probably just as well in one way that the purchase is not imminet; my flat is still not sold although I've signed the contract and I'm having to chivvie solicitors and all that. I can cope only with one thing at a time.

I went for the Honda heated grips. All neat and tidy, but is it me, or do they just not get very hot? It’s first time I’ve had heated grips so not sure what to expect...

The first and last time I had Honda grips was on my Crosstourer in 2012, they don't get near the heat of Oxford grips which I've had on every other bike since 1997. The Daytona grips I have fitted on my Forza are as neat as Honda with the power and price of Oxford.

No idea, sorry - whatever they put on! Will have a look through the paperwork later and see if it says.

On the 'sale of the flat' front: I have been given the date of Friday, 13th. August for completion. I'm not really superstitious but please cross fingers for me! I'll bore you with all the details in due course but, suffice it to say the estate agents have been in communication with the solicitors and are going to attend to a matter which is not really down to them but about which they should have informed me months ago. Hurrah!

Back to the Forza: I decided to take a trip up to the Dealers to have a browse and perhaps have a quick chat with Paul, my man.
They have some good stuff and I realise I haven't had a look round a decent dealership since visiting Hein Gericke in Blankenburg in 2012.

They have lots of good gear, including Givi topboxes so the trip was worthwhile. I also has a good chat with Paul and sorted out one or two things such as will they fit a Hella socket for my GPS and whether the screws/bolts on the brake levers are blanks, meaning I might be able to screw in a RAM ball. He was very co-operative and open, confirming my view that he's taking me seriously.

There's very little prospect of there being a Forza available before October but he pointed out that when mine comes it won't have been sitting in a warehouse but will have effectively just come off the production line.
He knows I'm mexcited and has assured me I will be contacted as soon as the get their allocation.

Incidentally, it is a lovely day here for a thrash in the Jimny.

Newcastle Motorcycles are looking after me well.
