Well I have to say Pikey's tackle is pretty impressive. I can't believe how quickly his billy boiled :)

Cup of tea by the river can't beat it.

Yes you can, a cup of tea and cake by the river. Not to mention pork pie. :)

It's pity trees too far apart to try hammock on that carpark.

My days of camping in muddy fields are long gone, and my only tenuous connection with Ray Mears is my wrist watch. The
titanium cased Citizen Promaster Tough Eco-Drive watch I've been wearing daily for the last 19 years.

This watch has long been discontinued by Citizen and is now much sought after by watch collectors wanting a Citizen 'Ray Mears' watch. All because eagle eyed watch buffs noticed Raymondo wearing the very same Citizen watch on his telly programmes.

A couple of years ago Citizen brought out a couple of similar looking titanium tough watches, nothing to do with Ray Mears though, these have the Royal Marines Commando emblem on them.

Now I'm impressed

Strange Ray Mears told me he wears his watch because he's seen some hardcore bloke called Meldrew riding roumd all winter long on a Dutch pig iron bike wearing shorts.

As for the man himself (Mears not Meldrew) he doesn't strike me as the live by the land all the time kind of guy but imagine after filming goes to the local orders pints of real ale and gorges on pork scratching.
