Well that's good to hear. Out of interest how long does the battery rental thing go on for, and at what point would they consider replacing your batteries if the charge started to drop?

Regarding the cost of running the Twizy, you need to take all the other costs into consideration.
Things like Zero Road Tax, minimal servicing costs.
Other things like a new exhaust or a Battery on the car and of course the petrol.
I bought the Twizy to commute and I worked it out to a minimum 3 years of use.
For me it worked out to a saving of over £500 a year

Use it might suit some peeps that's for sure. I've been checking on Renault's website and battery rental is now £30 a month for 36 months but only for 1500 miles a year........that's not good.. :?
What happens after the 3 year point?

My Dacia Sandero diesel also has completely free road tax. It's the first time ever that I actually looked forward to renewing my road tax.

You continue to pay....I think....
Will find out next year when the first people who bought Twizy's have done there 3 Years.
There's bound to come a time when Renault will not want to support the Battery Rental, I guess then owners will stop paying and the battery will be there's to replace......
Battery life on Nissan Leafs are quoted to 10 years, and even then it will still be able to hold 80% charge.
Like I said above my Twizy is a 3 year plan, after that I am toying with taking my Car Test......

Now if you're still getting an 80% charge after 10 years that's not bad, so fingers crossed that indeed is the case.

Some posts on here will tell you that the batteries will only last 2 years even if you don't use them
Not in my experience.

with the lithium being three (or even more types now) types cathode material, for example: lithium-ion cobalt, lithium-ion manganese and lithium-ion iron, which do you go for :?: then theres the Na3V2(PO4) 3 cathode material prepared by carbothermal reduction method is employed in a hybrid-ion battery with Li-involved electrolyte and anode :D
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Interestingly Texaco (now Chevron, the oil company) bought the manufacturing rights to Ni–MH vehicle batteries

The GM EV-1 and the Vectrix used Ni–MH ...and both closed down. One of the reasons was problems with getting batteries

Funny that.
