Its not too bad, not forgetting i have done it 4 times or so on a piaggio X9 125 and i fully injoyed it, i did lots of exploring dueing my 5hrs getting down there, 3rd trip leeds to london i did toke me 6 and half hrs as i explored and stopped in the main citys for photos lol, but i do enjoy it, its one of the main reasoin for going too.

people who know me for a few years know the trips i do on my 125 are the long big high millage trips.

Why dont you buy something more powerful then? On my many visits to the dealer to solve the random stalling of the gp800 I have borrowed courtesy bikes and always been pleased to give back the ones with small wheels and small engines.

That is very insulting to northeners. You are not the only one that has a couple of cars and numerous scoots but I suppose owning a volvo says it all

Just to put my two penneth in. My last three cars - all brand new and fully expensed - a E class Merc, a CLS Merc, and a Jaguar XF. I gave it up and now use my 650 Burgman for 90% of all my journey`s.
The enjoyment of travelling is back in my life. I don't mind the drafts, I don't mind putting a helmet on etc. I actually like the demands of observation and the challenges of staying safe.
Why be on a forum for two wheels if you don't like it? I suspect a wind up.

I grew up in durham frankiej but unlike you I am not equally balanced by a chip on each shoulder.

The mercedes is entirely relevant to this debate because I have a 3 litre v6 diesel pumping out 230bhp and value and running costs similiar to a maxi scoot. At 41 with young family the mercedes has more appeal but maybe when I am a pensioner like frankiej my personal tastes might change.

Speaking of which there's one on Ebay at the mo. 5.7 litres automatic 355bhp so it should just about be safe enough for the motorway but look out for all the berks in mercs. If you need to pass any trucks or white vans you'll ne3d the nitro kit which will bring it up to 1000bhp. Have a look, it's only 18k
