Ok i am not sur but i have had the same issue on a kwack which was traced to a faulty side stand switch ,also there is a fall over /crash sensor that cuts the fuel might be worth disconnecting them to see if it makes any difference . Does your fuel tank show pressure present when removing the filler cap ? if yes leave the cap slightly loose and try it out ,on the later srv they removed the green gasket from the fuel cap as there is no vent hole .

I think I read that Yamaha are developing their own DCT, though what they'd use it on remains to be seen! For all we know, they may think its the latest sportsbike gizmo, like in MotoGP.

Ferret strangely i did wonder about the side stand switch. They have made noises about replacing the ecu / throttle body but without a clear diagnosis this is probably more wasted cost.

Now thats gonna cost you a lot of dosh . If the throttle body is clean and the butterfly is moving and clean that is very unlikely to be the cause ,like others have said it would be a wise move to check all the electrical connectors first and spray each one and i would include the run button in that . The ECU would show a fault on diagnostics and i am sure they can reflash it if they have the kit .The tps and air temp sensores are parts attached to the throttle body and if one is faulty or has corrosion on its connectors it can cause a symptom
like yours also and more probable would be the tps .I have just had an email from an expert in france who has pretty much agreed with what we have said on here ,he says he has never had an ecu fail or issue .He did however say that he had one once with a similar prob and it turned out to be the connections to the lamda probe in your pipe which had gone brittle causing intermittent signals to the ecu which effected fuelling .I have just had a quick look at mine and i can see why he would say that as the heat shrink protector is about an inch short at the end where it needs o be covered .

WOW would not go round the full change of ecu/throttle body so they match, ferret is spot on.. its always usually a connection (electrical) its just being methodical.. thats why i posted the ohms values, its ok cleaning it but if not working correctly and yes good call on taking side stand switch off and cleaning and greasing up and the header pipe sensor, not sure if their is kit now to fool ecu if you dont use it and plug it, thought there was... dealer might have one.

thats gilera for you, a lot of scoots you can set the tps yourself, the tmax has lots of self checking and i can even do this myself on me j300 .. it going to be something small .. and thats why without checking the ohms outputs on specific parts, you will never find which part is causing it, hopefully it can be found then start your search for another fun ride before it bites your wallet again

It really is a shame because it is such a nice bike to ride. A tad heavy for everyday use and not very economical but at the lights it will outshine most and give a sports bike a decent run for his money while he works his way through gears to keep pace. It is a handsome beast.
