Actually got to ride the bike today. I forgot just how vibey they are at lower revs. Can anything be done to smooth things out a bit?

So far I have only got a small job list of things to sort out.

1. Seat doesn't remote unlock. You can hear the solenoid working but it doesn't undo the seat. Key release isnt very good either.
2. Front brake light switch isnt working. Hopefully this is an electrical micro switch and not a pressure switch?
3. Front pads are low, not out but low. New pair of EBCs ordered (£15.62 inc VAT & delivery)
4. One mirror top is a bit loose and flops about a bit. Hopefully this can be tightened up?

There maybe more but i cant think of anything. If there isn't and the Nexus reputation is accurate there soon will be! :lol:

get some dr pulley weights, about £45 delivered from germany, http://www.drpulley.info/shop/index.php?cPath=47_65" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i have had there 24gms weights in my scoot since september, a lot less vibey, would never go back to rollers, just cleaned the variator last week and very little wear and virtually no dust, at the same time i had a five shoe clutch and polini evolution bell, you find the clutch fully bites about 2800rpm while the scootis revving to about 5500rpm, instead of the 3-4000 mark on rollers, this stops 98% vibes, dont get me wrong im 53 years young, most of my riding is a to b and two up, i dont ride fast, just notice the changes, on my own i have fun, :)

1. Seat doesn't remote unlock. You can hear the solenoid working but it doesn't undo the seat. Key release isnt very good either. probably the cable undone, you can get a good view and probably sort if you take the central underbelly off were the top of rear suspention sits, its just a few screws either side which rise up to the rear light assembly,
2. Front brake light switch isnt working. Hopefully this is an electrical micro switch and not a pressure switch? get one from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280527388158? ... 1438.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
3. Front pads are low, not out but low. New pair of EBCs ordered (£15.62 inc VAT & delivery)
4. One mirror top is a bit loose and flops about a bit. Hopefully this can be tightened up?these are tricky to reach, if you take of the mirror from the bike,(those two bolts and unclip wire) the top part of mirror which swivels for viewing is attached to the main stem via a bolt, you have to get a very long reach socket arm or something that holds a socket on it cant remember size , that way you can tighten it, my left one is only slightly loose, so wrapping a cut piece of the lasses hair elastic band and tying it into the groove, sorted that one , good luck

There maybe more but i cant think of anything. If there isn't and the Nexus reputation is accurate there soon will be! :lol:

Both mine flop but I don't think they can be tightened up. But at £200 for the pair from ajsutton, they can flop.

hi steven, did you put the exhaust on????? await the eager pics?/ you can tighten when they are off the scoot, but its the long reach you need with a small socket on the end, you have to look up from were the indicator wire goes up inside with a torch and if i remember right, there is a nut, probably 6mm or so, im sure i looked at an old one of mine about a year ago, but managed to get a cheap one of ebay, so never looked into it again,, just taken son to scouts and thought i would take the dual carriageway back home, to more define the 24gm dr pulleys for you, as i dont normally drive these roads , just the a to b routes. as my sons are 10 and 14 and my missus suffers with Spasmodic torticollis its a form of dystonias and the wind on back gets too much at speed,
right to differentuate between the stand off take up clutch speed etc,at 50ish the scoot is just under 4000rpm but if you want to open her up, the scoot revs to 7500 rpm giving you a surge of speed till you back off, this is with the 24gms dr pulleys as in previous post cheers

all of my riding is a 2 b i get around 48 mpg gilera states 50mpg average, so a bit less but if you use highways more this would increase your mpg, i also use a
Sprint Super Competition Air Filter is a SPECIAL DRY POLYESTER type. This is made from an accurately manufactured fine micron mesh which filters more of the dirt whilst also flowing more air. It can be cleaned more easily and re installed immediately thus saving the cost of the specialist cleaner and oil and works out cheaper over a longer period, plus the added benefit of improved air flow means increased power. the scoot can gulp as much air as required and its a direct replacement £35 delivered from http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/Sp ... -5883.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; good price as you will find them every were else for £60
my thinking is, regular oil and filters and good spark plug, i use a brisk spark plug LGS http://www.briskracing.com/premium-raci ... lug-detail" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; bought mine from america but can get them in UK i have found it to be flawless, so fuel burn sorted, had the plug out after 1000 miles and no carbon residue present so burning all fuel

and also air filter for smooth running, then how to get the power to back wheel, dr pulleys, and on the clutch side the Polini Evolution Maxi Clutch Bell, no heat build up which stops slip.
http://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/p/Po ... -3366.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i have the rear suspension arm (blue) turned up 5 notches out of the 11 steps so the scoot is set up for maneuvering yet for rare carriageway use, i feel its more responsive in the turn

then look after your brakes, bleeding and refreshing is easily done with a one way valve pipe, i made mine but dont spend a fortune on one, some thing like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VIZIBLEED-ONE ... 4845b45eb5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

this is all i think you need, i suppose if i had the money i would get a different exhaust, but its not a need more of a desire.
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Looks like you've got your Nexus well sorted! I've never come across that Polini clutch bell before, interesting.

I've fitted dr pulleys in a few bikes now . In all of the Yamahas, which always seem to have too heavier weights(?), I found the Dr Pulleys improved mpg in normal running. Dropped it a bit if riding enthusiastically but performance costs right. 8-) In the sport city I found they dropped the MPG in normal running too. So I did wonder if they would have the same effect in the larger piaggio engine? I suspect I will fit them in the Nexus though as I like their longevity as well as their performance enhancement.

Its early days for me and the Nexus. I didn't keep my last one too long, so will see how I get on with this before spending out on it. I'm hoping to keep it though as the sport city and its piaggio engine impressed me and changed my mind about piaggios. So if I sort out the few niggling problems with the Nexus and it doesn't turn out to be a dog I'll spend some cash trying to smooth things out a bit. I find myself wondering about the difference between fitting dr pulleys to mine or getting an 8 weight variator from ebay.it Then I find myself thinking about an 8 weight variator with dr pulleys. :? :lol:

You cannot fit the 8 roller type without fitting a new rear pulley assembly which is expensive. The belt is different as well. I was going to do the same thing until I found out that the rear pulley was £260 couple that with the £150 for the new variator & another £50-60 for the belt, although it's supposed to make the bike smoother it's just not worth it.
