I use to have a very much liked kawasaki versey how will the 650 burgman compair

2 very different machines but both can do most requirements equally well . The verseys is lighter and faster but the build quality is awful compared to the burgman . The burgman weighs a lot more but you dont notice it too much when on the move . Comfort goes to the burgman as does fuel economy especially when riding at higher speeds .Storage and weather protection again burgman wins hands down . Verseys wins on initial cost. I owned a verseys for a while and wish i had got the burgman at that time .

Looked at a 650 today
It's like a large wide arm chair surprising how long it is in the flesh.

Like the power over the 400 but motorway filtering is a concern due to its width any thoughts

First rule of filtering is you only go through gaps you can fit through! Irrespective of the bike you are on.

I thought 400 and 650 were same width.

My 2014 650 has electric folding nirrors but I have only used them twice when filtering. Generally, if the mirrors have to be folded there is too little wiggle room!

650 way forward especially coming from a big twin

I have to say I loved my cruisers (Kawasaki Vulcans) but once I got to 59 I started to feel I was not getting full use fro it, that were tiring and not that versatile. So after looking around and reading stuff on here I made the switch. I tried various bikes and went for the SYM Maxsym 400. I found this machine to have bike like handling, good reviews and was great for around town and motorways etc. I came to the conclusion that a 400 was the sweet spot. Then SYM launched the Maxsym 600, it looked good on paper and the local dealer dealer offered me a great deal. So in April with 60 approaching I became one of the first people in the UK with one. One of advantages over the Burg 650 is the weight which mean the handling and performance is great. I just love it and my poor car sits and rots on the drive, its a great town run about and and marvellous on the open road. So enjoy the switch over.

Fatboy you are just spoilt for choice these days ,big singles,parallel twins. and v twins all in various maxi packages to suit looks ,comfort and sportiness oh and the wallet of coarse ,Maybe you fancy a trike in the fashion of a maxi like the MP3 or fuoco 500 .

3 wheeler had a robin once but not for long.

Guy at work has a 500cc MP3 it's a very capable scoot.
Having a fatboy I like stretching my legs out a bit and one less wheel to worry about.
