Hi Steven M - With the Muppets, who knows. I've sent out a reminder by text to the Northern, Northern riders so we might get a few. As I say me and the Son are going. Fuelled up and bikes checked over. Squires breakfasts are pretty good so worth a toddle out anyway for one.

I agree, a great day, I caught up with everyone in Masham, where the bacon butts and coffee were tasty, and the café was nice and warm. The the sun shone most of the day,and the roads were dry [altho extremely damp in parts]. It was good to meet up,put faces to names and have a chat. Hawes was busy, lots of folk out on two wheels, taking advantage of a pleasant winter day. After more coffee and warmth, lotsa scooter talk and a hello wi some old pals I followed two 2muppets to Settle, via ribblehead, one on a Sym Maxim, and tother an x10 [by gum they could shift!] We stopped in Settle for a while, and waved as the Wakefield contingent went past homeward bound. Yes a good day out. Hope everyone got back ok.B

Hi Guys, well that turned out to be a good one! Over the day we had 12 riders join us. It's such a great route. After meeting at Squires we were off via Tadcaster to Wetherby, then on through Knaresborough and up into North Yorkshire. The weather was kind with the lightest bit of occasional rain. Using mysterious routes , well to me anyway, we passed through Kirkby Malzeard, Grewelthorpe,(birthplace of a leading Northern Rider - I must get around to putting the Blue Plaque up), in to the Market Square at Masham. (Where incidentally I sang in the choir as a Boy. Not as a Castrati as Alan suggested), pausing for a Cuppa the Group split - some still, it must be said filling there faces! Now lead by Brian, a new member from Pendle, setting a cracking pace we were off to Hawes.
I have to say that route is excellent and if you haven't tried it - then give it a go if you possibly can.
At Hawes we just had to try the excellent food in the Cafe. Not especially cheap but very good. (We were joined by Roy AKA Sylar on his Black Silverwing. He's made a very nice modified backrest that looks very comfortable). The second group arrived and it was decided to make our way southward by way of Settle. I've not done this road before, but I can really reccomend it, nice sweeping bends with good visibility, no wonder Roy's always round and about the place. By the time we got to Settle the first party were already there, Sorry Guys we had to pass through, the Pass Out expired in a couple of hours and we had to be home. The carnage would be to much to take! We worked our way back through Skipton towards Bradford in ever increasing traffic.
I hope everybody enjoyed the day as much as I did. We had a rider from Leicester, another from Hartlepool. Lots of new faces all keen riders. It's been suggested that we have a meet at Whitby with the North East riders coming down whilst we travel up. After Fish and Chips at the Magpie, a joint ride over the Moors to terrorise some innocent Hamlet. Just a thought.
Great day out, thanks to all.

I really must try to be more sociable. A nice meet at Hawes and good to see so many scoots at last. I was told you were going back through Leyburn, not on to Settle. I was coasting along and saw a line of Headlights catching me up. I think it was Gerard that got behind me for the run to Ribbleshead Viaduct. As one of my fellow Boltonian's would say "Did you like that?". See you all another time

Hi Roy, it was good to see everyone out and about. Just to say again to those who maybe feel there not into group stuff, there's nothing compulsory about any meet or ride. Make your own way from A to B or tag into the Group. Come in for a chat and a brew or stay outside, it's your choice. Some good experienced riders on a big variety of bikes does tend to make for interesting chat though. Some great ideas put forward on the day. To make things fair though I do think we should try to - as an idea - go for a meet up North, then over the Pennines another time. Variety being the spice of life and all that.
I know my Mrs would like rides to actually go somewhere to see something not just ride for the ride. Anybody else or your partners feel that way? If so let's put few ideas up for consideration. I have always wanted to terrorise a small isolated community but I suppose I'm on my own for that one. Marlon Brando had better luck.
