Very complex suspension and steering requires additional maintenance and can be problematic.Miseryguts wrote:Notice nobody's mentioned the Piaggio MP3
Anybody got any views on that, looked at a couple of reviews and it comes out really well.

Re: What to buy?
Well gone and done it
Had a good look round the Northeast today at Piaggios, Yam Majesty's and Suzi Burgmans
Read loads of reviews both from owners and magazines then decided in the end on which one just felt right
And opted for the Burgman 400 it seemed just a little more comfortable and roomy than the Majesty.
The Piaggios were really good value but didn't do it for me in the styling department.
Anyhow will probably pick it up on Friday and post some photos.
Just got to get the garage cleared out first to make some space.

If you ever feel you need to secure yourself in your seat, just lock your legs with your arse against the butt stop and feet up on the highest (feet forward) position.

Re: What to buy?
Good choice and safest bet.
What age/type is it, check the V5 for the model reference, will be either K5, K6, K7 etc after the AN400 part.
You may benefit from a Givi screen if not already fitted, Dr Pulley sliders would be an easy upgrade to the OEM rollers when/if they need replacing. Don't be tempted by any performance belts, stick to OEM though you can buy from EBay (Italy) too.
Linky
If you need tyres anytime soon the Michelin CityGrip are excellent and well recommended, good option is buy direct from oponeo.co.uk and take loose wheels to a local place to fit.

And, WHEN it's time for a clutch, change to the Dr. Pulley HIT clutch. My brother (210lbs) smoked his Burgman 400 clutch with lots of stop and go in and out of parking garages and tooling around town with hills and traffic. Cleaned-up the clutch bell and installed the HIT clutch..brilliant! Positive, smooth and NO SLIPPAGE!
