theres a Formule 1 plus ibis budget (cheap french chain budget hotels) in birmingham and coventry you can secure room with card on line and cancel on the day up to 5pm showing £35 brum £27 cov at moment for F1

thanks for the tip, however birmingham is like half way there, whereas travelodge is right at the same spot as the meeting point, near little chef. The nearest ibis hotel is in manchester which is 25 mins away from the meeting point and that is not available for the 2nd march anyway.

Yes realised that only reason I said was tlodges are full price if you book close to date you only get cheaper rooms booking in advance ,So one at say £29 now could be £50 plus closer to day and saturday nights always more

unfortunately the early booking doesn't give the option to cancel, so in case of a cancellation i'd lose £26 outright (which is the price at the mo) but a day before it costs £39 (for tomorrow night for instance) however i'll check it out this friday for this saturday's price to see if it goes up more than £39 and if so, i'll book the 2nd saturday early next week.

Yes I know thats why suggested Formule 1 as no prepay just secure room with card but understand if you want to be closer .
