Ericbusa tour of Dartmouth .Hes from Essex one of the new breed of old bikers had enough of long haul so now chuck little scooter in back of a van and just use at destination hes still got 3 other big bikes .Hes done tour of Alps this year doing the same with little scoot in van .What I do now scoot on back of camper for long haul take wife to do cooking .

What a brilliant video,normanly if it that long,i just see the couple of minets then shut down .This 1 how ever over cup of coffee and Kit-Kat,i didn't.Nice talk-over,and going along the narrow lanes/road,a 125 cc Scoot,who needs a bigger one.And as for trying..??? To turn round..? Forget it.And as he said."Cup of tea"Yeah.

Hes a good bloke done all the BMW 1200 gs adventure stuff just happy to potter about .His van is an ex disabled small window van open back doors flip down little ramp and its in hes took passenger seat out couple straps its done .

I Work for a School,last year they got new Mini-bus,s [4 of them] The 1 I drove 54 Reg. 54000 miles,was the better of 3 they sold. Think it was sold for £1200.Cheaper tax £165.Should I have bought it..??? No. Got the room,big drive,but have a car [£30 tax] No point in have 2 .

As the years hurtle towards the big 60, I have to accept that there will be a time when the body can't do thousands of miles on 2 wheels, so I have already thought about doing same as you, and getting a decent camper van with room, either inside or on the back, for a scooter or small cruiser! Think it's the only way to prolong my need to ride?

You just have to look into gross weights and rear axle weight and suspension .Coach built motorhomes are usually near the limit as they are plus long overhang so every 100kg adds 150kg (roughly) due to leverage being further away from axle .Van conversion with heavy duty suspension and short overhang is ideal.You can get motorhome with garage but that takes space off van and usually only in high spec models.Or get a trailer and tow weight is not such an issue then but more on ferry to euroland

Was looking at a van conversion, rather than a motor home. Saw one earlier this year in Paignton that had a kind of platform thing on the back that the owner put a scooter on, quite a nice little set up.
