As the years hurtle towards the big 60, I have to accept that there will be a time when the body can't do thousands of miles on 2 wheels, so I have already thought about doing same as you, and getting a decent camper van with room, either inside or on the back, for a scooter or small cruiser! Think it's the only way to prolong my need to ride?

You just have to look into gross weights and rear axle weight and suspension .Coach built motorhomes are usually near the limit as they are plus long overhang so every 100kg adds 150kg (roughly) due to leverage being further away from axle .Van conversion with heavy duty suspension and short overhang is ideal. You can get motorhome with garage but that takes space off van and usually only in high spec models.Or get a trailer and tow weight is not such an issue then but more on ferry to euroland

Was looking at a van conversion, rather than a motor home. Saw one earlier this year in Paignton that had a kind of platform thing on the back that the owner put a scooter on, quite a nice little set up.
