Well, the one good thing war always shows us, is that urgency stimulates technological progress. There is also an emergent technology that fills your tank with leccy just like one with petrol

seems like in F1 mercedes have got the edge on the tech, where ferari are struggling.. i was watching a programme mid afternoon on motors tv and they use engine oil that has properties to get thicker when hotter :!: and the engines using more forced compressed air mix instead of fuel running leaner, merc using fuel efficiency at 11500 rpm where ferarri having issues and having to rev to 14500 to attain something like same speed, well it got all techy and had to go get kids :D
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Lithium is, for example....
Then there's the hidden cost of age-related degeneration in the batteries
My electric doesn't use lithium or any other rare-earth exotics.
Manufacturing impact was the same or less than a petrol bike for materials and a hell of a lot less on machining.

My electric is still greener than any petrol/diesel bike

Electric scooters won't make an impact on the market based on "green-ness", most people simply don't give a flying fuck about the environment.

True and emissions and fossil fuels are a red herring in environmental terms. The real problem is overpopulation and no country wants to sort that one so we're fucked anyway.

The major problem with electric vehicles is they cannot totally replace a petrol vehicle. Until electric vehicles have equal or better range and refuelling times they won't go mainstream.

Then the argument is about doing a better job.

Electrics don't;

QED.

I've just sat in a pathetic days worth of validation based on erroneous `collaboration` viewpoints.

If it doesn't work for ME, it ain't worth a shit...

I need 500 mile range, with 2 minute refuel time, at no Extra Cost compared to ICE. At a cost of 5p.

Electrics? Match that or fuck off....

silly question i know, but you guys prob know answer: on any electric car... if the motors are on the two front wheels to drive the car ... then why cant a bank of generators be on the rear axles to regen the batteries when in motion :?:

@ Michaelphilips
Because that would be a an electro magnetic brake.
You would be taking the same energy out as you put in so there is nothing left to move the vehicle.
You can use the energy to move the vehicle or to charge the battery, you can't do both.

However you can use the motor as a brake and claim some of the energy back that way. That is what a regenerative brake is

sorry i meant as a way to supplement energy back in to the battery bank.. so the car has longer range,, surely this could be feasible :?:
like a bank of alternators,

Yes it is feasible and it exists. It is called regenerative braking.
The motors soak up the forward motion and dump it into the battery as electricity
(A motor is the same as a generator, you can put elec. in motion out or motion in elec. out.)
