You have to massage them a bit to get the minimum clearance needed to slide freely. Clean up the rough casting ribs that they slide upon, and dress them to just fit by hand with a fine file or sandpaper. It's worth the extra work.

When I did the Dr. Pulley Sliders on my Majesty 400, the performance gain was huge, but the "variator rattle" was still there.
On my Tmax500, I did the sliding pieces also, and had to remove a BUNCH of metal from the really crappy casting on the ribs the sliding pieces move upon. Afterword? Absolutely silent! No variator noise at all.

Look what KYMCO did on the variator in the Xciting 400i. It's all nylon guides, one in the other! No more rough castings... Also, the rollers seem to be made of Dr. Pulley's material...

SkuTorr Thanks for that, i'll take some time fitting...

As you a MOD man for your T MAx - have you considered the R6 Throttle tube conversion - think they are 60 deg rather than the std 90 deg - not sure what a std T Max is... food for thought?

They put the R6 tubes on the Tmax 530. Much better atomization and power/mileage.

Rather than do everything that would maximize the tube change (Power Commander, Exhaust System, 3.0 fuel pump, intake horns, new variator and upgraded clutch) I'd just get a Tmax 530 out of Canada. Much easier and cheaper in the long run...
