I'm not sure you're right about that X10-500 example. I think it is just the same as importing your UK spec 206. That's because ( I am almost certain about this ) all scoots produced in the EU have an EU wide Cetificate of Conformity. Getting same out of Piaggio can prove difficult. I know this because my friend Jim (of X9oc fame) imported a Piaggio Ape last year without too much difficulty. Bearing this in mind, you should be able to walk into a dealer in France, buy an unregistered X10-500 or TMAX 530 ABS and import it here and register it. Euro wide warranty also MUST apply due to legislation.

I sold my bmw car to some polish guys who took it out on a ferry back to their country. They wanted to take the whole V5 document which i declined first, but they told me to call DVLA and i did the next day, to my surprise DVLA confirmed what they said. So i sold the car (declared sorn at that time as well with no tax) and they just drove off.

I wonder how much of a difference a second hand bike would make compared to UK prices? Say, a mk3 tmax :)

UK used prices for big scoots are always cheaper than European ones. My TMAX went to France. When I was selling my Vespa LXV, I kept getting pestered by Dutch ebayers...

i dont know why the sales network cannot order you one for delivery , if you wanted one, i know they would say, well we would have to kit out the maintenance side, what a load of crap! if your local dealer cant order the maintenance parts thru the network, what gives!
In these days of you can get anything you want by the press of a button, then they are holding back there sales by not allowing different countries to sell there wares, i cant imagine few companys that at showroom level would turn down a sale, because its not in stock :)

Not good, agreed.

But you're in Kent, so it could be feasible to buy from France and pop back across for servicing etc?
