Fine with me - we can flip between ADV150/300 and ebikes. Mind you wouldn't a dedicated ebike threadthingy be useful here as a lot of us enjoy
2-wheel-love whether scoot, motorbike or ebike. I have mentioned here before that I ride a Trek ebike and quite a few of us chime in about the bicycles we ride.
However, I'm hoping that Honda will either go down the adv scooter route with an ADV 300 or update the SH300 and the rather too angular Forza 300.

I was having the same off topic thoughts myself. It is pleasantly surprising how much we all have in common once we all get chatting. Talk about from the same mould. Only did 700 odd miles on my scooter last year and seriously thinking of selling it this year and upgrading from my Scott eBike. The eBike and more holidays abroad ( thanks to my 3rd pension) only make this decision more obvious. Thanks for your eBike history. I only took the plunge December 2019.

Looks like we're off-topic here Capitano! Perhaps you could split this then, as I'd like to chat about the ADV 150/300 speculation and the ebikes too! We'll leave that one up to you.

I considered the cheaper ebike options with the rear hub drives but eventually got my head around the bloody price of these things and opted for the mid-mount or crank-driven Bosch ebikes. I did wait though, for a few years, until I thought that the manufactures had sorted out the battery placements, battery sizes and overall better integrated designs. I still think now that the designs could still be better, but my Trek seems sturdy enough.

Yep, Mr muddyfox, I'm having the same looming retirement thoughts and wondering whether or not to give up on my motorhome plans with all the expense, maintenance, parking and crowded roads and just slip through the traffic queues, gaps and unmetalled roads and explore more on a 300 size scoot and also a fully suspended high-end ebike. Gotta be cheaper and more fun I reckon. Of course, I'll have to camp or B&B it on my exploration and tours.

To test out this new retirement plan (!), last year I took Mrs Swipe and myself off to Ypres from Dunkirk on just the bikes. So we turned up at the ferry on packed bikes alone! This May 8th, to coincide with VE Day we are again packing the ebikes and cycling around the cemeteries and beaches. As we're still learning to manage batteries and distances with or without panniers we'll be staying in a small farmhouse in Sainte-Mare-Eglise.

So, if we start liking this ebike touring malarky, we may well travel further and more often on a mix of 300cc scoots/bikes - like the CRF 250L - and new ebikes and forego the motorhome and even bigger bikes - for myself, something like the X ADV or thenew Yam T7.

Yep, we're both enjoying smaller capacity scoots and if you think about it - these latest electric bikes with full suspension, greater range etc - are really, ultralight, bloody lovely motorbikes 8-)

I've left all the original posts on this topic, but copied ones that reference e-bikes to a new sticky topic in the chit-chat section for now.

At the moment it's as good a place as any for e-bike posrs and we can review later. 8-)

Meanwhile, this topic remains for discussing the ADV150 ... or wherever it meanders to next!
