Yes it was a good deal and it did cement the sale. I was only out for a ride and was passing and just called in for a chat. I was not sure I wanted a 600 (so glad I did). He asked what I was looking for I said about £2800 he said you can have £3000. Deal done and one very happy bunny and convert to big engine scoots. They also made a point of saying they would take good care of any Muppets that went to see them and even offered to organise a barbecue for us if I organised a ride out to them.

I should add that a different dealer offered me £1700 against a Burg 650, and then said he would need to make some inquirys before he could confirm he could go that high. Needless to say no £9k Burg 650 sale.

I know its a different displacement but my SYM GTS 250i just had a new belt for £66. The previous one was approaching 12000miles and was fairly worn when it was removed. Now with a new belt my rpm's for a given speed has dropped by 500-600rpm and overall performance has improved... I would ignore the 12months change and go by mileage only.

It would be fab if there was a "Where to order your SYM Scoot spares" thread. I think that might reassure some people. ;)

I used a Gates 'boost' scooter double notch belt for my previous K8 Burgman 400 with part number 9802-41813. The Suzuki dealer oem price was £160 but I sourced this Gates belt for only £70 delivered.
They are based in Dumfries http://ww2.gates.com/europe/brochure.cf ... n_id=11505" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here is their catalogue http://ww2.gates.com/europe/brochure.cf ... n_id=19438" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
May be worth calling them to see if they supply your belt and who may be a local supplier to you if they do not sell direct to the public?

Never use startrite bikes. They used to be called Viva moto or something & there have been numerous threads over on BCF with regards to them selling vehicles which are unfit for purpose & generally ripping people off. A customer from Sweden is still having difficulty obtaining a refund from them & is having to pursue it through legal means.
Startrite Motorcycles are in Leeds and are nothing to do with Vivamoto. Graham and his team are great people who are only to willing to help and offer advise, among other bikes/scooters they work on they are Norton Rotary engineers. Hope this clarify,s
