I was thinking hose clips. Not practical to replace every screw on machine. My mp3 not got top quality shiny fastenings but they have not troubled me so far.

Is it worth me getting battery replaced at same time because bike has been sitting around on its original. My mp3 has gone through a few batteries when I have left it unloved and without trickle charger.

Get a trickle charger then - problem solved. All my bikes over the last few years have had an optimate power lead fitted for easy charging.

For your hose clips, upgrade to fuel injection-style clamps. Not that much more money, but 10-times the reliability and quality.

I have just replaced them as and when as far as the panel fasteners ,but i would replace the hose clips but if you dont i would suggest carrying a few heavy duty cable ties with you in the event of a clip failure . If you are gonna do them i agree with Skutorr with regards to the type of clip .
