I can vouch of that.....

The idiot that did this, overtook a lorry right into our path, there was no way out. When asked the driver said "I thought I was on a dual carriageway"

I've been flattened off a bright yellow Lambretta (with a helmet to match) and the driver didn't see me, and had the side of my Toyota Estate car crushed by an old fool who pulled out of a side turning as I went past.
His excuse was I was indicating .... I wasn't (as verified by the RAF pilot driving towards me).
The car looks like Tokyo at night when the lights are on. The driver also mentioned he had just got his car back from the last incident he was involved in !!!!!

I treat everyone on the road as though they are trying to kill me, as at my age it's gonna hurt. Gone are the days when I bounced.

Phil, I agree that you have to treat everyone as idiots.
MOST motorcyclists are now the worst users of the roads, I was on a Pioneer run yesterday, the classic riders were mainly fine, although they think they have the right to block the road with very poor parking at Handcross, but the sports bike riders have no self control at all, it is a Sunbeam Club ride for pre 1914 bikes, bikes with leather belts, poor brakes and old tyres, the boy racers were speeding along, they were at the wrong event doing that.

TIP

When riding towards a car/van etc pulling out from a side road, dont look at the car/van, Look at the wheels of the car/van. I know it sounds daft, but looking at the car, even when it moves it doesn't seem to register. but a turning wheel does....try it next time you're out and about...
