Look at it another way, a lot of older riders like myself who had bikes for years before getting into maxi scooters aren't the slightest bit interested in Vespas and Lambrettas and that type of scooter generally. Scooters like the Gilera Runners, Italjet Dragsters, Peugeot Speedfights etc, we associate with those annoying twerps we all see constantly droning round the town centre. So our scooter of choice tends to be 400cc to 650cc because we aren't restricted to anything except the depths of our wallets.

And your mates that say they can jump on a bike and ride it in a decent fashion, they probably can but only if they've actually got a bike and the right licence to ride it.

They are all in their late 40s, all have had full entitlement for over 20 years!!
