The kph speedo is a personal thing, I know some people are fine with them, but not me, there's absolutely no way I could tolerate one.
Harsh 3rd world?
Maybe Scotland is worse, there's salt on the road for at least three months a year.
Any Sym I've seen here has had a very rusty exhaust, corroded alloy parts and faded plastics.
The service interval is about cost and convenience, longer interval is always better.

Regarding the kph, I fitted my scooter with a kph to mph converter, Its gold in colour and screws onto the speedo drive at the front wheel, the speedo cable then screws onto it. I checked the accuracy on a GPS and at 40mph its spot on. The markings on the speedo dial are now reading mph not kph. Apart from the first service I have done my own servicing, I then know its been done ok.

Oh come on GN2, they can't rot as fast as your previous tuc-tuc Honda did.
It quickly became a rust bucket with knackered plastics, a cracked engine block, the forks had to be replaced and even Honda would only offer 2p trade in as long as you bought another tuk-tuk
You needed the long service intervals so you can save up for all the repairs needed in between!

I'm sure you are very proud but its a cheapo monkey metal tuk-tuk, some of us buy quality over cost.
Is it helpful or pleasant to hear any of this? Can we make a deal to stop slagging people's bikes off and ramming our criteria down everybody else's post?

True that the PCX did suffer one manufacturing fault, I have never hidden from that.
In the three years I had it despite the appalling neglect it suffered there were no breakdowns and it never once failed to start and take me where I wanted to go.
And there was a dealer available and willing to do me a good trade-in when it was time to say goodbye.
Its still going well, I've seen it on the road a few times since I traded it.

All scooter are a very personal choice, the more variety the better.
