Sounds like a very wise 2 cents to me

On my bike (Deauville), I have linked brakes which are controlled by the foot brake, so should the rear lock up the ABS cuts in, in emergency stops you apply the front brake hard as well and the ABS cuts in on the front brake. Best brake set up that I've ever had.

Back in the day people used to laugh at the idea of wearing crash helmets and went on protest rides against them.
Look how attitudes have changed.
Its the same with ABS.

Too complicated! On my Pug, the right hand is for the throttle, the left hand is for the brakes. Simple....
(The left hand lever operates both front and rear, triggering linked, power-boosted brakes with ABS.)

Yes and no. Look how people are being trained in cars to emergency brake and you will understand the concern. They are no longer being taught to do controlled braking but are taught to hit the brake as hard as possible. Great until they buy that cheap old car that does not have it!
I have never said do not get ABS, but get trained on it and do not rely on technology.
I have had people pull out on me, bike written off last christmas due to this. I could not have avoided it with ABS as I braked as hard as possible and even at one point the back locked, went from 30mph down to a speed of less then 10 on impact. No ABS but would have been happy to have it, but would not have relied on it.

The whole point of having ABS is that when an emergency happens you can brake as hard as possible.
I don't understand that you are trying to say about relying on it?

The back wheel locked because it was on the white line, ABS would have not improved the braking in that situation. Knowing that makes all the difference. To often people think something is there to save them without understanding its limitations and the need to know how to protect yourself properly in the first place.
As I keep saying, don't rely just on the ABS, get training on how to brake properly in such situations " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You mean things like keeping off white lines, reading the road ahead and riding at an appropriate speed for the conditions?

I've been fully trained in braking, but would not get anywhere near the stopping distance required, that has happened to me now 3 times in an emergency, once on the Burgman 650, Once on the S-Wing125 and once on a BMW F650 CS. it's a very handy extra tool to have in the locker.
