I love Yamaha's and have had a few, now on a Majesty and I love it. But after watching the ABS video I would not buy a new bike without it. Prior to buying the scoot I'd always had 'real' bikes and never thought about ABS much as I was a fair weather biker but the scoot I use most days for commuting and more. I now realise ABS is a potential life saver and I really cannot understand why Yamaha's flagship model has omitted it. It does seems that EU legislation will eventually force the issue but leaving it off until you are forced to fit it is shoddy imho. The more I think about it the more I reckon Sym need to pull their finger out and get the Maxsym 600i into the dealers.

well for me persoanally, the wing i had was not for me...i'd opt for 400 burgman ,symgts 250 or the X10 i have now which absolutely blew me away when i test rode one, an now owning it. i will have such a problem finding something to beat what it can do..it's so stable an quick.plus awesome looks.

Personally they are all good ,comes down to what your expectations are for where you live and what you want to acheive i reckon.
If i lived in the U.S.of A i would probabley go for a Burgman on the freeway as less twisties sure.
That is where Suzuki has marketed and done a great job no question about that targeting older riders like me but thats not the end of the story only the start.
The europeans invented the scooter good on you .

The posts are flying in
You guys are correct the legisation sucks from goverments
If a manufacturer has A.B.S available then rides should not be able to be imported without it.
The manufactureres have had it for a long time on what we ride.
Its as if they want us to die?

Under brakes no scoot is going to handle like a motorbike when you have swingarm attached to engine and gearbox braking hard at the same time into a corner.
That is where i think the two styles change.
You will always have to drive a scooter as on a bike it is simply you ride it.
My freind Stollie once said to me Scooter riders can ride bikes where bike riders need to change there style.
I think he has a valid Point
What are your veiws on this ??????????

I think we are over dramatising somewhat! The Burger had a bit more engine braking than most, but it wasn't that extreme! I actually found it quite a good feature as you could trundle down the steepest of hills (esp in power mode) without touching your brakes but in complete control. I actually wish the TMax was more like that.

Hard braking into a corner?
Leave that to the likes of Graeme Crosby and Bruce Anstey.

Although I believe it's a tad exaggerated, I couldn't stop laughing when I pictured it
