TAN HILL INN NORTH YORKSHIRE 15th/16th JUNE

we set off sat morning,not a good start,got up went to start the scooter and i had turned the key too far when locking it the night before,parking light had totally flattend the battery,so i nipped down to local scooter shop and bought a brand new one £45!

had to use the motorway for first 40 miles,really strong winds blowing us all over the road,i even stopped to check my tyres as we were swaying really badly when a lorry passed or we passed one,brown trouser moments.

pleasant ride through the lakes stopping off a various places,we even took the ferry across windermere £1.60 .

over to tan hill and god it was really windy,had a hard job putting the tent up but we managed.

was nice and dry but windy,we only had a double air bed so turned it round for more room,but it was touching the sides on our single skin tent,no problem as long as it didn't rain.

spent the evening in the pub drinking a local brewed ale ewe juice 5% ,went down well.


guess what ? it lashed it down in the night and you know what happens when you touch the tent material in the rain.

got up very damp.

breakfast in the pub,and a nice ride home through the yorkshire dales and clithero,again stopping off at various places including devils bridge in kirby lonsdale.

I came up to kirkstone pass. I saw an 08 burgman but as I don't know if it was your scoot or not. plus ive never met you so didn't know what to do so just turned around. if you saw a silver silverwing that was me

yeah i thought i saw you,was you near the bottom were they were doing the drag trails?

i did nod to someone parked up there,it was me 2 up on a black 08 burgman with the hi viz jackets.
