1371 - exactly 6 months old (reg 1/9/12) so 18 months warranty left. I see from the handbook that the mirror stems fold forward OR backward! Very curious!Jedburgh wrote:Congratulations Mr Grumpy, looks the biz and I hope you enjoy riding it as much as I do mine. I agree with your comments, mind you don't clip them car/van mirrors when your filtering! How many miles has it done?

Interesting. I might take it to the http://www.allyearbiker.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; people - part of the treatment is a dewaxing, and then they ACF50 it. Supagard - how do you apply it? If takes even the slightest amount of skill or effort or patience, I'd wouldn't be the right stuff for me! Probably cause more harm than good!Data wrote: When I got the new Burgman I dewaxed it and then gave it two coats of 'Supagard' paint sealer. It's just a though...but It dunarf protect the paint well from swirl marks and scratches and doesn't wash off like a wax eventually does. It works very well on Black cars maintaining that deep gloss look without scratches, so I would expect it to keep a black scoot looking brand new for years. You may want to look into it if you don't use anything special. Anyhoo...again have fun!

About the same as mine, at least you avoided the pain of running it in though. I've found the extra power most noticeable when two up or when I've been to the cash & carry (I can get an amazing amount of stuff on/in it) and also the weight distribution being more forward has taken out the understeer I found with the Mk 3 when loaded/ 2up. All in all it's brilliant, quite looking forward to Pico's mountains in Spain in June.MrGrumpy wrote:1371 - exactly 6 months old (reg 1/9/12) so 18 months warranty left. I'm going to the Picos in June too Jedburgh, but on my Beverly. Riding down to Barcelona over two days from St Malo.
Mr Grumpy, you say it feels quite like the C600 Sport, without the nice engine sound. I'm kind of glad I have the BMW now. Off to France and the Black Forest on that in August with a bunch of bikers.

It's just a cream to polish on. Let it dry then buff off! It stays in place for up to 3 years at a time then you can polish it again with the same stuff. It does work. I had my car professionally done but the bike is easier. I'm with you on not doing too much. I hardly ever wash my car but when I do it comes up looking like new still after 5 year of hard use. Supagard makes it so easy to get the dirt off revealing the brand new car shine still! People don't believe it's 5 years old until they see the '08' plate. I like your idea of getting the bike treated professionally at allyear. They do seem very good. Do let us know how you get on if you do that.MrGrumpy wrote:Interesting. Re: New TMax tomorrow!
I had the mk3 done a couple of times with them. Very thorough....and the scoot looks like it just came out of a dealer showroom when they finish!. The mk3 still did look very shiny when washed - the metallic silver still glittered, despite being 5 years old. Not quite sure how effective the ACF50 treatment is - I wonder whether enough gets to all the right places if you don't dismantle it. On a naked bike obviously they can get to everywhere easily, whilst on the TMax they sprayed what they could get to.Data wrote: I like your idea of getting the bike treated professionally at allyear. Re: New TMax tomorrow!
Very nice , Cool in black . Where is the battery n the Mk 4 ? Agree a right pain to get to on the Mk 3 . i still can't make up my mind if I want to go for the Mk 4 , wish I could get a test ride and compare it with the C600 . Both nice scoots
