Just looked at the Weather Report. At the moment it is giving rain for the Saturday (24th) but time for things to change.

According to the website I've just looked at, petrol in France is currently €1.739 per litre which converts to almost £1.45 per litre.
I guess these are average prices - some of the petrol round here is slightly less than shown on the chart.
It may be worth checking nearer the time to see if it's cheaper to get on the Shuttle with full tanks or to wait until arriving in France to fill up.
It may not make much difference, though.

Just thought I'd say, theres a beefeater pub or Harvester 100 yards from the hotel in Ashford along with a KFC, Pizza hut, Frankie and Bennies across so you won't be stuck for somewhere to eat.

Its 137.9 for petrol and 144.9 for diesel at the local Tossercos.
Diesel is therefore 10p cheaper there (based on €1.171 to £1 I got today)
But petrol is 8p more expensive.

If we go with Steve's suggestion (F&B) we don't have to get togged up again for riding. If it is wet on the way down that means putting on wet clobber. Plus I'll have done about three hundred miles down to Ashford. So I can eat and retire to my room when I want.
So my vote is F&B.
Are we stopping for coffee / snack where we meet up with Liam and Steve?
Cheers,
