And I bet SYM can source cheap ss exhausts in Taiwan

just the down pipe on my old Yamaha teos 125 was stainless welded to a black back box and that lasted the 7 years we had it .... its such a cheap fix to make

Good point, why do most scooters only come in three crap colours? Well if you can call grey, black and white colours. Nice to see Honda do a range of colours for the PCX. Would really have like to have had the choice of a proper colour when I bout my SYM. Is this a likely option in future SYM scooters SYMUK?

Re your comments about a new Joyride/RV being in the early design stage - as I stated in a previous post I have owned three of them the 180, 200 and now the 200i.So here are my personal observations, being tall (6ft 5) I find that the flat floor offers the ability to change foot position and avoids cramp on a long journey, although I not sure if it is changes to the handlebar cover or that the bars are more swept back on the current model but there is reduced clearance between my knees and the handlebars it could be just that the seat is higher but it does not feel that way although I notice the seat box has been redesigned as i can fit my full face helmet under the seat now.

With regard to the seat it appears to be softer than the previous model it is not very supportive and I find it uncomfortable after 60 miles or so where as on the old model I have ridden 300 miles with little discomfort. I like the screen on the 200i I find it protects me from the wind with little wind noise. In my opinion the panel fit has been good on all the models the panels on the current model are easier to remove with the exception of the upper front fairing which I have given up on and just sprayed ACF50 through the grille.

I have bottomed out the front forks several times on the 200i which I don't recall doing on the older models and the front end feels softer generally..

I really like the instrument layout I have the newer dash as the original was replaced under warranty due to a noisy cooling fan (I was impressed how quickly this work was carried out). I have he usually gripe about the speedo and the small mph markings which I find difficult to read on the move whereas I had no problem on the older models.

I have got used to changing the oil every 1000k and now it is a 5 minute job but if they are redesigning can they please fit a proper oil filter and presumably this will extend service intervals.

To return to the exhaust issue i understand all mild steel exhausts are prone to rusting but judging by the number of comments SYM fairs badly in this respect, I have sprayed the system with ACF50 but it seems to make little difference and afaik in the case of the 200i there is no legitimate after market s/s exhaust systems however there are several for the 125 version.

SYMUK any idea when and where there will be a picture of the matt black and red one available to view (temptation getting stronger)

If the 600 is anything like the 400 I would not bother

Sorry Frank you are in the minority, world wide the 400 is a winner, I think the one you hired was just not set up right
