I am happy with it, but I'd like the option of trading it in for a 3 wheeled scooter or something like my 300 with more tech and I've got the dosh to do it. If I'd wanted a bike it'd be piss easy, there's a big Triumph dealer locally, and the previously mentioned Yamaha and BMW dealerships not too far away.

If I liked the BMW C400X or C400 GT I'd be quids in, there's been all sorts of deals and offers on them, even Servicing costs which have been blown out of all proportion on maxi forums by those who've never checked are reasonable on a 3 Years Service Plan. I just can't warm to the C400 GT even after a ride on a demonstrator late last year, and even the updated 2025 version couldn't tempt me.

It's a good job there's pie and mash shops in the area as a consolation for riding out to these dealerships.

So the window of opportunity for buying something I'd like in 2025 is running out, Road Tax and MOT are due later this month, and I'm not buying new during the winter months when the road gritters are throwing salt around with gay abandon.

I've finally looked at a couple of the 2025 Yamaha XMax 300 Tech Max scooters. Not as you'd expect in a local Yamaha dealership where they seem to give priority to a display Yamaha e-bikes rather than the maxi scooter I've been enquiring about since February. I got fed up hearing shite like ‘We’re Yamaha motorcycle dealers' But I was able to check the XMax 300 Tech Max on a touring trip to France last month. As usual most scooters that are kept outside all year roundin a Mediterranean climate all year round look really tatty, especially the Piaggio MP3. Or they've been dropped when it rains on streets that have polished granite cobbles.

I suppose it's fair enough that if you live three floors up in an apartment with a narrow and steep cobbled street outside and your scooter has to stay outside all year round, you're hardly inspired to go up and down three flights of stairs with a bucket and sponge to clean it.

Anyway I can no longer be bothered going on return trips to dealers this year. My Forza is now 7 years old and still in very good condition, it sailed through its MOT when I returned home from France and there's stillplenty of tread on the Michelin tyres. I'm going to replace the original battery which is now showing its age and maybe go to the NEC bike show in November, but only if there's something there of interest. I haven't been there for almost 10 years because usually there isn’t.
