A smaller wheel will drop further into a hole than a bigger it's very noticeable going from
my X-max and when I had it Burgman to one of my old bikes with 18/20 inch wheels.

I jumped off my Triumph Street twin on to the dealer's machine and was immediately struck by the fact that it was actually harder for me, at 5'11'', to handle at low speed and to get a solid foot on the ground. I was also unconvinced by the automatic transmission which wasn't as smooth as a conventional variator when slowing down. It also sacrificed some of the underseat storage of a conventional machine. The rugged styling gives a false impression of improved suspension but the real issue with scooters is the fact that the engine/transmission is part of the unsprung weight of the rear end. Only T-Max and Kymco AK550 really tackle that.
The ADV350 from Honda has only been out a couple of years, and the underseat storage is as big as it;s more conventionally styled brother, the Forza 350. It has the same transmission as the Forza ie CVT.

Might you have been on another machine?

Quite right! The one I tested was the X-ADV which I suppose has been dropped in favour of the more conventional model in similar clothing.

No, the X-ADV is still going strong along with its close cousin the Forza 750 (and the NC750X bike), both given minor upgrades for 2025. The X-ADV is selling remarkably well in Europe I understand. Enough storage for 1 full face helmet.
