I'm out on the New SH... ideal shopper - underseat and topbox...
Essesntials from the little shops at petrol stations...
Also out on the NC... again Loaf of Bread, 4 Pinter, plus bits for dinner for a family of 4, well pack of chicken breast, or burgers, pasta, frozen chips etc. fit in the Frunk...
Or a quick ride to drop some esentisls of to my Mum, and then the long way home...
limit the amount of big shops in the car...

I didn't at any point in my post say or suggest that I don't comply with social distancing.....capitano wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 5:42 pmUnfortunately it isn't your chances, though.riders in the storm wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 4:25 pm Life certainly isn't worth living under house arrest, I will take my chances thank you.....
The point of distancing, lockdowns etc is to prevent the spread of the virus overwhelming the NHS, and killing more vulnerable people.
If you are asymptomatic and spreading the virus without knowing, you could be potentially killing vulnerable people, ie people weaker than yourself.

It is a free country, sorry, used to be, you are welcome to stay indoors all you like, but there may never be a cure, there isn't for many illnesses, we are going to have to learn to live with this, practice social distancing, be sensible, have a little bit of courage and get out there !

I will comply with 2 meters and s/distancing, and ride my scoot whenever I want. Got more chance of giving, taking, shopping in Aldi.
Hundreds fly into the UK every day bring in whatever,
so going out on a ride breathing in my own 'fumes', that isn't irresponsible imo.

You didn't mention anything that you shouldn't be able to do safely.
My point was only that we need to remember that it's not necessarily us that the measures are there to protect ... though my paramedic neighbour says I should take care, "because of your age, you know." Yeah thanks for reminding me, Dave!

Absolutely, and especially avoid people who can't interpret the guidance properly.MrGrumpy wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 6:41 pmYes, we need to maintain social distancing to stop the spread of the virus. Even though I have been out and about, I have been to places for walks where there are few if any people. But the chances of spreading the virus in the outside if you keep more than a few feet away from people are effectively zero. There is no gain from being under house arrest - in fact I'd have cracked completely if I'd been stuck inside for weeks.capitano wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 5:42 pmUnfortunately it isn't your chances, though.riders in the storm wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 4:25 pm Life certainly isn't worth living under house arrest, I will take my chances thank you.....

If you want to see concert with the maddest crowd ever, look up AC/DC from River Plate Stadium. AC/DC well past their best by this time, but the stadium is huge, utterly crammed with enormous numbers of people, every single one of whom is going utterly bonkers! The good old days.......Has been maxi tours wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 10:28 pm Just been watching foo fighters 2008 Wembley on you tube jeez amount of people crammed in shoulder to shoulder frightening in " Times like these " yes folks still got it![]()

Well I may go for the odd quick ride but I will be wearing something over my mouth and nose.
I`ll be honest I`m not a fan of walking near cyclists or joggers puffing things out a good distance when you are out walking etc, so probably visor down as I pass them anyway.
Its atough time for all and if ( working class only ) schools do go back we will see more spread so it will be about even more.
Its ironic its about the best start biking wise we have had for ages this year and we have mostly been sat in the house much of the time.
Might be a couple of years to go on this one, so lets hope we get through OK as we can.
