Okay dokey you do that - the oil I highlighted is a recognised lubricant for motorcycles and scooters - that’s not to say that your Tesco stuff won’t do the same job ;)

I kinda know that the subject of oil has been covered on this forum and many others many times - whether you deem cooking oil or margarine suitable is up to the individual - I pointed out that this particular vendor was selling a quality product at a decent price for your beloved scooter - yes we have umpteen choices some more expensive some less expensive - however for the sake of say 1.5 litres for your average oil change why not invest in an industry recognised lubricant for your trusted steed - open for debate

Yep, totally agree. SYnthetic is only required in engines with extremely high rpm limits and used at their limits, i.e on tracks or many track days. Scooters are low tuned engines that won't benefit at all from these oils. Semi-synthetics are more than adequate, much cheaper and will protect the engine just as well. All semi-sythentics are 'industry recognised' lubricants. The Yamaha Xmax 300 user manual oil recommendation does not state you need to use synthetic oils. It recommends ordinary Yamalube which is semi-synthetic. Any oil that meets JASO MA2 meets the specification for the manufacturer for this scooter.

Bit like wanking money away on Shell V Power fuel as opposed to Supermarket fuel lol. Money I save (although not a lot) will go towards my bike fund.I’d liken it to feeding your dog the finest top quality steak when frying steak will do. :D

I find V Power gives a little more power and response, but that could be in the mind. But it does give a 10-20% better ecomony which pays for the increased cost.

I’ts in the mind,Snakeoil lol. You do a proper check (which is very difficult) ie same route/same temperature/use the same filling station pumps etc etc. and see what your results are.Up to the individual if they wish to squander money,I don’t as I’m a tight arse lol.

Only time I have put fully synthetic oil in a bike was my Suzuki GT750 2stroke,it didn’t smoke at all with full synthetic in oil tank

I am a believer in semi, I was forever adjusting the valves on my Morini change to semi and not been touched in over 10000 miles,
only thing I put fully in is my turbo Diesel and that is only to keep the 100,000 rpm plus turbo happy,
If you have a carb'd engine and it does not run as good or cut's now n then in very cold weather try Shell V-power,
Diesels seem to give a few more mpg and run smoother on Morrison's.
My X-max gives a few more mpg on BP Ultra or what ever it's called not sure if it pays for it's self though and other than the mpg it runs the same.
if your engine is fitted with a knock sensor then it is more likely to give a bit more power or mpg on super fuel.
This is what I find and am sticking to it,
