Thanks guys, so ditch the idea of a 'skirt thing' as I have decent textiles. I do 30 miles each way on the scoot so might opt for heated grips under my muffs as I had them on my last bike and wore summer gloves year round.
Cheers!

wouldn't ditch the idea,as hugely popular in London (with the ladies) & especially abroad. Its designed so you don't have to dress like Michelin man.BigFatDonkey wrote: Sat Sep 01, 2018 2:25 pm Thanks guys, so ditch the idea of a 'skirt thing' as I have decent textiles.

However for what one is going to cost I'd put the money towards a textile kit
Keep your eyes open one may pop up second hand.

Both my bikes get fitted with a Tucano Urbano “Termoscud†(gaucho/shytebag/blanket) plus handlebar muffs (with heated grips beneath) from October to March. I couldn’t give a damn about what others think about how uncool it looks, I like to be protected from the elements. Once you try them, you never look back.
My Tmax handlebar muffs are low cost “Shad†brand general purpose scooter items, I had to drill and tap my bar ends M8 in the lathe at work to fit them using countersunk stainless machine screws.
I wired a set of Oxford heated touring grips to the battery. These turn themselves off once parked if you forget, thus preventing a flat battery. They are superb.
I also bought the Tucano Urbano T-max termoscud online from AJ Sutton in Milton Keynes for about half the normal RRP at around £69.
Shop around for all these items online as the savings between different suppliers can be huge.
I wear a top quality BMW Textile suit beneath, but keeping the wind and rain off is the key to comfort in deepest winter plus no need for clumsy winter gloves.
Toasty and dry on the coldest days.
