Football is not for me. The wife, daughter and granddaughter were all talking about how deep someone was playing as opposed to his usual position. I offered them all a fresh beer and returned to the shed to continue fettling my mountain bike gears.

On another forum i go on i almost got linched just for saying i thought it was a daft game and the money they get paid..
i thought one guy ( ex Union convener all his working life now retired ) was going to come up here with his mates and sort
me out... it was THAT heated..Football
My thoughts entirely, though people getting heated about it is a bit much.
22 men kicking a bag of wind about? Footballers ARE a bag of wind.

I am 69 and a half i have been on motor bikes from 6 years of age when my dad cut down a BSA bantam for me to ride on the field at the back of the house...so you could say i have been a life long motorcyclist but i never get upset because people don't like the bikes i like. I mean i am not a cruiser type,,,,nought wrong with them, but not my type of bike, i must admit neither were scooters until my leg Op...i then needed an auto...so why do football fans get So heated about the game, and so nasty::: tis ONLY a F****ng GAME after all Not even real like ridding a motorcycle/scooter

I have always compared football to religion. Fans go to their temple (the ground) on their Sabbath day (Saturday) to worship their idols. And their particular idols are the only ones to worship, and everyone else is wrong.
Thinking of which, you know Manchester United fans rarely if ever live in Manchester? Well, I remember a few years ago a magazine did a survey amongst their readers to find the Manchester United fan who lived the nearest to Manchester. The nearest one they found was in Norfolk.
