Absolutely guys, a bike either does it for you or not. Like anything else in life I guess.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 55 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

mac, don't get me started on Harleys. As a tech, I've had experiences with Harley engines that no person should ever have to go through! I've never been the same since!! :(

I am enjoying my Burger 400 after a couple of years with a 650 - totally agree each has its strengths. For what I do the 400 is just that bit more a versatile all rounder - if it was continental blasting most of the time it would likely be the 650 or the Silverwing - which I had before the 650.

I prefer the 400 handling which surprised me - but suspect C of G lower. Only niggle is the slight 'single' lumpyness around 3000 revs in traffic - otherwise I just rev through it. J

For me the 400 has "enough" of everything I wanted (comfort, speed, space, simplicity).

From a "horses for courses" point of view I don't ride with a pillion so I don't need the extra oomph for that.

The 400 is about the most weight I want to put up with and I like the simplicity of a straight CVT. apart from a bit more performance I didn't feel the sigfiddy gave me anything for the extra cost.
WE ARE THE BURG resistance is futile

Globs is quite right about his saying "smaller is often better". Can't disagree on that in this case.
That's what he tells all the ladies.

I've been on both doing some serouis miles...and overall I preferred the 400...more agile and easy to get about. The new 650 is lighter and more like the newer 400 but there is something missing with the bigger burger.
When I ride with the 650's on our rides im never left in the lurch or at the line at traffic lights, it's a overall brilliant machine! Just my opinion tho, I know my dad loves his but having experienced both my choice would be the 400...

Ungrateful wretch! To be honest we make our choice and if we get it right for ourselves then its a good bike.

Interesting analysis and chat. Can't compare with a 400 but compared with my Downtown 300 is way better in riding performance and feel as well as comfort

Btw, just curious, what do you do that requires so much riding? [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
